Send a sympathy card online
When someone you know is grieving, an emailed condolence does not feel right. Type a short note, upload a card design if you like, and we mail it as a real letter through Canada Post within 24 hours.
How it works
Four steps. Most letters take under two minutes from sign-in to mailed.
- 1
Write a short note
A few sincere sentences mean more than a long letter. Acknowledge the loss and the person who died by name.
- 2
Upload a card design (optional)
Upload a PDF of a sympathy card design to be printed and mailed as a folded card, or send a plain letter.
- 3
Enter the address
Mail to the home of the bereaved family or the funeral home if requested.
- 4
We mail within 24 hours
Mailed via Canada Post the next business day. Domestic letters arrive in 2-4 business days.
Who this is for
- Friends and family who cannot attend a funeral

Frequently asked questions
Will the envelope have any branding on it?
No. Letters are mailed in a plain envelope with the return address you choose. There is no PostPal branding visible to the recipient.
Can I send a folded sympathy card, not just a letter?
You can upload a PDF of a card design (front, inside, back) and we will print and mail it. For most people, a plain letter on quality paper feels equally appropriate and is easier to write.
What should I write?
Acknowledge the loss, name the person who died, and offer one specific memory or kindness. Avoid clichés. Keep it short — three or four sentences is plenty.
Should I mail to the funeral home or the family's home?
If a funeral home address is provided in the obituary, mail there. Otherwise, mail to the family's home. Both arrive in time as long as the family is reading mail in the weeks after.
Can I send from another country?
Yes. The letter is mailed from inside Canada through Canada Post regardless of where you place the order from. International cards accepted.
